Andreas Münzer

Andreas Münzer was born, nicknamed “a man without skin, ” on October 25, 1964 in an ordinary Austrian peasant family. He began to help with the housework from an early age and physical work did not frighten Andreas at all. He went to a music club in his free time, but most of all he was attracted to sports. Münzer played football, and in the winter he skied and also jumped from a springboard.

The guy was not interested in lifting weights, but everything changed by chance. Münzer went to study at locksmith courses, after which he had to wait for transport for several hours. Andreas did not want to waste this time, so he drank himself to the nearest fitness club, where he began to actively engage in simulators. Pretty soon, he gained good muscle mass. Münzer's works were not in vain. He was invited to compete. It was a junior competition in which a nineteen-year-old youth took second place. This event completely turned his life around. Andreas becomes a true fan of bodybuilding and devotes all his free time to bodybuilding. Already at twenty-two years old, he opens his gym. Becoming the owner of his own sports facility, he pursued two goals - to be able to earn and train. The young guy is noticed by Albert Busek, who is quite an important person in German bodybuilding.

Having decided not to stop there, Münzer moves to Munich, which opens up great opportunities for him. The Austrian bodybuilder appears on the covers of sports publications and successfully performs in competitions. When Andreas is granted the status of a professional, he realizes that it is necessary to maintain good shape throughout the year, so he practices at least six times a week. In addition to strength training, he also does intense cardio training. He chooses such a tough regime by chance, because he wants to surpass Schwarzenegger. Münzer follows a strict diet, training hard and hard. In addition, the Austrian bodybuilder consumes a lot of anabolic steroids, and also dries before exercise, minimizing the use of water (up to 500 ml per day), taking diuretics. The bodybuilder’s daily schedule was based on a strict diet and training. Andreas never drank alcohol. He spent his free time in the Munich center, where he talked with those who shared his interests and love for bodybuilding.

Best achievements

The Austrian bodybuilder has won many prizes, but the most outstanding achievements of Münzer are:

  • Second place at the “Night of the Champions” and at the German Grand Prix in 1993.
  • Third place at the German Grand Prix and the 1990 classic Arnold, at the Ironman 1991, as well as at the amateur championship in the Light Heavyweight category, in which he participated in 1997 and 1998.

The athlete did not win the first places, but he entered the top three at many competitions.

Cause of death

Münzer never said that he uses potent substances. He hid in every way the fact of his abuse of these drugs. Those who attended his gym and studied with Andreas as students, the bodybuilder prescribed powerful courses of potent substances. People noticed how his face changed, which indicated the use of anabolic steroids. This was reflected in his body, which gradually got used to the usual dosages when they stopped giving the desired result. The athlete did not stop it. He began to increase the amount of drugs consumed, which cost him a huge amount of money. In his preferences, he was rather conservative, choosing exclusively proven "chemistry". Andreas never experimented and only bought good drugs.

In 1990, an Austrian bodybuilder met Elizabeth Schwartz. She is also a professional bodybuilder. Between them a romantic relationship is struck. Andreas announces to Elizabeth that they will get married when she wins first place in the world championship. She managed to achieve this cherished goal, but only when Munzer was no longer alive. In 1996, Andreas and his lover went to the Arnold Classic. At the tournament, the athlete fails to rise above sixth place. His loved ones begin to worry about the health of bodybuilding, but he does not want to stop. Andreas without any concessions and respite for his body immediately goes to the next competition.

This attitude to their own health has made itself felt. March 13 of the same year (1996) Münzer felt unwell. He began to experience severe pain in the abdomen. He was hospitalized, but the doctors could not stop the opening bleeding, which caused the athlete to fall into a coma. Without regaining consciousness, the athlete died a few days later. The cause of death was the poisoning of the body with potent anabolic steroids. His liver has almost broken up. The general condition worsened against the background of poisoning and severe electrolytic imbalance.

Münzer became a cult person in the world of bodybuilding. His impeccable body quality and incomparably beautiful shape with virtually no fat, the percentage of which before the competition he reduced to four percent, made him one of the best. The judges were in no hurry to give him first places. In many tournaments, Andreas could not even get into the top three. The judges explained their decision by the fact that they considered the athlete insufficiently plastic on the stage.

Food

Andreas was of the opinion that maintaining a high level of metabolism, even a mid-level bodybuilder, allows for protein-carbohydrate balance. The daily intake of protein per kilogram of body weight should be 2.5, and carbohydrates - 7 grams. The athlete practically did not consume fats, the only source of which in his diet was red meat. He was never loaded with fats, which, according to Münzer, helped him maintain good physical shape all year round, and not just before and at competitions. He was building muscle even in the off-season, when he consumed almost 8 thousand calories per day.

The athlete ate five times a day. The source of protein was eggs, chicken or turkey meat, fish, low-fat cheese and powdered proteins. As a carbohydrate, the bodybuilder consumed oatmeal, potatoes, rice, and also sometimes allowed himself some fruit. He never ate anything sweet. Andreas drank 8-10 liters of water per day, to which he added a small amount of magnesium to maintain electrolytic balance. Bodybuilder drank amino acid supplements, vitamins, zinc, vitamin A.

Training program

Since 1987, Münzer trained six times a week and twice a day. Andreas's double split was as follows:

  • 2 day, morning biceps and shoulders, evening calves and cardio;
  • 3 day - triceps training in the morning, legs in the evening;
