The rules of conduct in the gym

Halls are different. In a regular fitness club it’s enough to be polite, ask if you are going to take apart someone’s shell, and don’t bother people with questions and advice. In the halls for powerlifting and weightlifting, you should also not sit on other people's benches, always follow the turn of approaches to weight, and do not step over the bar if things are not far in San Diego. Institutions for the "elite" of this life do not accept loud screams during the approach and dropping weight to the floor. Crossfit clubs are almost half full of flying rods, and snarling people, and that's the norm. First, look around, and you will understand how to behave. And we will tell you the general rules of conduct in the hall.

Elementary rules of conduct and safety

We will not tell you that you could be taught this in the family or in the section where you went as a child. Not everyone had such an experience.

1. Take your weight

In some reserves for the rich, personal trainers do this. But if you are still doing without the services of such a guy, if you please disassemble the leg press, remove the dumbbells, and do not even scatter the fitness gum if you are a fiton.

From the simulators you need to remove pancakes and hang them on the rack in order. This is especially important in those rooms where all pancakes are black, and you have to wind several kilometers in chaos in order to collect, for example, a deadlift bar. On racks for scales usually there are plates with the weight of pancakes, what and where to hang.

Even if you are very tired, and in general, on the verge of fainting, still disassemble for yourself. An exception is the case when someone wanted to stretch your work weight. And that, and this also happens. This rule applies equally to girls and boys, it is unlikely that you immediately start to squat with 100 kg, so you won’t be too hard if you take it afterwards.

2. Do not drop weights

Sometimes dropping the bar to the floor is part of the competition, or a way to save your back if you are doing a lot of repetitions of some hard work. But in a fitness situation, such things are not used. Even if you suddenly wanted to push the bar in the aisle, on the floor, without a platform and at rush hour, you will have to lower it from the top point, not throw it off.

Usually "flying" equipment does not live long, if we are not talking about professional weightlifting vultures. Therefore, gently lower it. She will come in handy.

3. Dress normally

Half-naked phytons in shorts and tops look cool on posters. But in life they may be asked to get dressed if the beauty appeared in this form in the lift or weight lifting hall, where professional athletes are preparing.

The same goes for the biggest bodybuilders who are happy to bare their torso at every workout. Most people are not at all ready to use simulators after the most naked person in the room. So even if you are in great shape - wait with her demonstration to the beach or competition.

Everyone’s favorite item is shale. Coaches in some rooms may not allow beach shoe enthusiasts to attend classes. It's not that ugly, just not safe. Legs can slip, and it is so easy to get injured due to the banal unwillingness to wear normal shoes.

4. Do not leave puddles of sweat

Yes, I want everyone to see that you are not just walking from the simulator to the simulator, but are actively engaged. But it is not necessary to leave behind a pool of sweat. Open clothes and intensive training ">

5. Do not go into other people's personal space

Of course, the exception is when you are asked to insure someone. But here one does not have to joyfully hug the insured on the squat, and even cuddle against it so that the amplitude of movement becomes minimal.

Try not to stare at the person who starts the approach, especially if this person has gathered himself a large barbell, and plans a difficult approach.

6. Wear a shift

It’s good, of course, to get out of the car in the summer and go straight to the gym without changing shoes and without changing clothes. But it’s still better to change the shoes, because the rules of most clubs allow people not to be allowed to take classes before classes.

Rules of etiquette

1. Do not meddle with conversations

Each club has a “circle of interests”, which discusses who is friends with whom, who beat whom in the octagon, and what are the chances for the victory of regular players. And there are people who are very annoyed by the participants in the "conversation circle" standing or sitting on the simulators. Even if you saw that a person is doing something amazing, it’s better not to bother with your admiration during training. The norm is to say hello and exchange a couple of phrases, and not stand and discuss something constantly between sets.

2. Do not forbid to do "in turn"

Yes, many clubs are still poorly equipped. Maybe they have a bunch of simulators, but here, for example, there is one bench for a bench press. In this situation, everyone who engages in the evening should harvest in turn. Even if your working weights are well over a hundred, let other people join you. Yes, they will be able to take off and hang pancakes themselves, but you still take a long rest. Those who are engaged in bodybuilding according to some “fun” schemes with timer rest, drop sets, or some other methods of increasing the training volume, can simply explain their needs. Or find less peak times for your workout.

3. Ask if the simulator is free.

No need to happily sit on any free bench and try to swing something there. There is that guy next to the simulator that is clearly doing it. Ask how many more approaches he has and ask in line. The main thing is not to silently climb and not begin to change working weights. It is for this that they do not like arrogant beginners.

4. Do not pester

Even if you are a master of sports in powerlifting, and the girl in front of you is crouching with a terrifying lean forward, with vertical legs and underfed, keep your comments to yourself. She may be injured, or ward of some new-fashioned “buttock” coach. And you obviously will not like to start acquaintance with the conflict. In general, it’s not entirely ethical to comment on the technique of other people before being asked.

5. Dedicated to lovers of circular training

Most likely, for the sake of your great methodological scheme, you will not have to go on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, but in more free hours. A person occupying a lot of equipment immediately interferes with the entire hall. Even if you do not aspire to become the most popular person in the audience at this moment, it is better to choose a different method for this.

6. The insurer

If it seems to you that someone is barely lifting his weight, you don’t have to run joyfully and lift that weight for him. It happens that approaches are planned at the extreme level of resistance, and a person simply has to do everything himself, and with your help you deprive him of his approach. By the way, when you are asked to insure, it is better to keep your hands away from the neck, until you clearly understand that it is time to help.

7. One pulls, the other presses

If you are engaged in "egolifting", and just hang exorbitant weights and try to somehow lift them, it’s better to tie them up. The point is that your insurer is pumping the long back muscles, there is no. Click "> 8. Do not meddle in the thick of things

It can be quite difficult at rush hour, but you don’t need to put your bench where people gathered in large numbers. You will hurt them and interfere with training. Be careful.

9. Reinstall weights

If you asked for someone in line and hung your pancakes on top, remove them yourself. The person who has put you on weight is not required to perform an additional amount of work because of you. The same goes for simulators.

10. Be considerate

Yes, people are different. Someone cannot sit normally with 20 kg, while someone starts to warm up with a barbell of 70 kg, and starts working at 300. Therefore, it is better to keep your valuable comments and opinions with you. Moreover, do not let go of jokes about the appearance of other people. It is simply not polite, and hints at the low social status and cultural level of the joker.

11. Do not refuse insurance

If you are really able to help, never refuse, it is very ugly. But those who are not confident in their abilities should say this. There is nothing shameful or bad about this.

12. Screams and roars

People growling during the approach are the norm in the elevator halls. And this is not the norm in conventional fitness, where they work on health and beauty, and not on becoming truly strong. Therefore, try not to make particularly loud noises during your workout.

13. Talk and music

It is not recommended to behave like on a bench near the entrance, for example, to show videos to your friends loudly and with sound, and to discuss what is happening loudly.

14. Perfumes

This applies not only to girls. Some guys choke so brightly that even the most seasoned ones cannot stay close to them in training for more than half an hour. For the audience, it’s enough to just take a shower, use some kind of not too odorous deodorant and that’s all. Pour yourself a liter of perfume - should not be.

There is nothing to be ashamed of being a beginner. They don’t like not beginners, but those who distract from training by their behavior and bring chaos to the harmonious inner world of the gym.

Rules of conduct and safety

In any room, it is better to train so as not to create potentially traumatic situations. Even if you are engaged in crossfit, it is absolutely not necessary that after each approach you have pancakes flying off the bar, and all the space around you will be littered with kettlebells.

Safety regulations are as follows

  • Go to training in clothes that cannot get stuck in the simulator, and shoes designed for this type of training. Of course, you don’t have to buy a pair of barbells if you put a 20 kg bar on your back for the first time. Any sneakers with a hard sole will be enough. Sneakers are suitable for traction, and for ordinary exercises in simulators - any sports shoes that fix the leg;
  • If you do not know where to get something from the equipment, ask the duty coach. No need to look for locks half the workout;
  • Yes, you will have to put on the locks, especially if the bar is assembled with several pancakes, and you are not sure of your stability under load;
  • Do not drag your viruses into the room. Colds> Trainer or Instructor

Modern halls are divided into two large categories. In the first, instructors can only tell where what equipment is and conduct the first training session. It usually consists of a “run” on all simulators for all muscle groups, and a demonstration of how it works. Some free plans for beginners may be in the audience in the public domain, but usually in such rooms they are written by trainers for a small fee.

If you want serious work on yourself, you will have to hire a personal trainer. This is the name of the person who will be with you every training session, and will begin to monitor both your equipment and how you do it. A personal trainer will write a training program, help you adjust your nutrition, and help you achieve any goal.

Typically, attempts to get a personal training from the attendant are crowned with nothing. This is not a bad coach, but the club’s policy. You have to pay if you want an individual approach. If you bought just a subscription, but not a coach, you will get access to equipment and insurance as needed.

The second category of halls is still quite rare. These are studios or, suddenly, the halls of the old school, where people who train athletes work as trainers. They can tell and tell for free. If you decide to install equipment, and engage in the plan - pay. No - the trainer will do everything to ensure that you simply do not get injured, tone your body, and even pump your biceps by summer. In the studios there are subscriptions, which include coach services. Then any person can either do it themselves or consult a specialist to help him.

The most important rules of conduct in the hall

Many clubs close their membership to people who engage in illegal personal coaching. You can just come to work out with a friend, and the next day you will find out that they will both be refunded, but you will not go here anymore. Does it make sense to engage in such a club ">

In other clubs you can not perform certain exercises. Yes, we are talking about home-grown performance of weightlifting movements in the aisle of an ordinary “rocking chair”. Check if you can do this if you are going to do crossfit.

Be sure to find out everything before buying a subscription. Is it possible to use magnesia, or its liquid version, is it possible to use your belts and personal equipment, in general, are there any accidental restrictions on the time of use of cardiovascular equipment.

Yes, in some clubs during rush hour you can work on a treadmill or exercise bike for no more than 20 minutes in a row. This can be a problem if you want to lose weight and you need to do a lot of cardio.

Club rules, by the way, can be rather strange. There are still establishments where staff cannot communicate with customers outside the club, and even add them on social networks, except for work accounts. All this is better to find out in advance so as not to get into trouble.

But for most ordinary fitness clubs, simple rules of courtesy, etiquette and social behavior will suffice. Greet other people, say goodbye to the coach when you are about to leave, and do not forget to clean up after yourself, that's all.
